Company History

The concept for ToyBoom began on a very cold winter day just before Christmas in the windy city of Chicago. Our resident expert Jen Thomas, who has a propensity to explore every toy store she comes across, was at it again. After having explained to her loving husband for the fifth or sixth time why a particular toy would be great for a child’s development, Chris piped up with “you know….you should write a book or something about all of this…” and thus the concept for ToyBoom was born.

About a year after the concept was starting to develop John Cox, long time friend and resident tech jock, suggested that we take the concept online. As Jen and Chris had no idea how to do such a thing, John jumped on board and launched ToyBoom.com into cyberspace.

The idea evolved from a book or yearly catalog to an online toy store where parents, grandparents, and friends can be assured that the toys they are getting their loved ones are of the finest quality, help in the child’s development, and above all are fun!
